Gillian Olohan is the Program Manager for Construction Training and Apprenticeship Ontario (CTAO), with the Provincial Building and Construction Trades Council of Ontario (PBCTCO). Gillian is a second-generation Master Journeyman Electrician, a second-generation IBEW 353 Toronto member, a fourth-generation Electrician, and has been working in the trades since 2005.
Gillian is a founding member of the Ontario Building and Construction Tradeswomen (OBCT) and currently serves on the OBCT Leadership Committee where she continues to advocate for equity, access and leadership development for women in the skilled trades.
She has been a driving force behind the creation and growth of CTAO and led the development of the inaugural CTAO Summit – an industry-wide event that has become a widely-regarded forum focused on workforce development, apprenticeship advancement, and providing a unified voice for unionized training centres across Ontario. The Summit is now entering its third year.
Through her work, Gillian brings deep trade experience and a strong commitment to building a skilled, inclusive and sustainable workforce across Ontario. Born in Ireland, Gillian enjoys traveling the world in her free time, starting and almost finishing DIY projects at home while fending off two wild boys named Finny and Sully.
The PBCTCO represents 15 construction craft unions and over 150,000 skilled trades workers across the province.
