David Gardner has been an integral part of the Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers, Local 95 since joining as an apprentice on October 5, 1989. Over the course of more than 35 years, he has exemplified dedication and hard work, rising to the position of Business Manager in 2014.
Throughout his career with Local 95, David has held various key roles, including Trustee, Executive Board Member, Vice-President, President, and Financial Secretary. His extensive experience and commitment to the union have equipped him with the leadership skills necessary to effectively manage an organization with over 2,000 active members across Ontario.
David remains deeply committed to advancing the interests of both Local 95 and unionized labour across the province. He serves on several influential boards, including the Ontario Construction Secretariat, where he was elected as Director in 2021, and the Provincial Building Trades Executive Board, where he has been Vice-President since 2014. Additionally, he is an active participant on the Provincial Labour/Management Health and Safety Committee and has been a Trustee on both the Health and Welfare and Pension Fund Committee and the Joint Apprenticeship Committee since 2000.
Residing in Hamilton, Ontario, David enjoys a fulfilling family life with his wife, Vera, with whom he has shared 30 years of marriage, and their daughter, Ashley. His passion for his work and community continues to drive his efforts in improving the lives of union members and enhancing the skilled trades industry in Ontario.
